There was plenty of parking in the driveway. The location was great and we could walk to restaurants, bars and the beach. Highly recommend.

Great location for big families

The Poet’s Inn is ideally located in the historic district of Cape May. It is perfect for large families or groups. Lots of rooms and bathrooms. Ample parking and great entertainment in the back yard. Kelly and Kevin are amazing to work with and very happy to accommodate any needs or problems that might arise. I gave it five stars but would give it ten if that was available as a rating. This is a true diamond.

Wonderful Vacation Home!

The Poet’s Inn is incredible. Our kids loved the putting green and the ping-pong table! The house is beautiful and spacious, and the parking is wonderful. The location is great, and we loved sitting on the porch at night. We have been coming to Cape May for over 30 years and this was by far the best house we have stayed in down there! The hosts were incredibly responsive and we appreciated the early check-in! We will definitely be renting this house again!

With every bed filled, this was a perfect place to house our large family for a wedding in neighboring Wildwood - where I couldn’t find a house with enough bathrooms. The front porch was our favorite place to sit and chat. Definitely recommend for a larger group. Thank you Kelly!

Private backyard with putting green!

The Poet's Inn was fantastic for our group! We were in Cape May for a wedding and we were able to walk to the ceremony and reception since the Inn is right in the heart of downtown. The place itself was beautiful and had plenty of room for all of us. Our favorite part was the private backyard - complete with putting green! I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend!

Perfect house for a large group

Perfect house for a large group and right in the middle of everything Cape May! The Poet's Inn was perfect for our group of 11 women - plenty of bathrooms! House was clean and the kitchen well-stocked with plates, glasses, silverware, pots/pans, etc. Sometimes you rent a house that sleeps 20 and they have 10 dinner plates - Not here!! Plenty of everything and two dishwashers! It was a cold and rainy weekend when we were here but the cute backyard looked like it would be lots of fun in warm weather. The location could not have been better; 1 block to shops and restaurants, 2 doors down from The Mad Batter (fabulous), and 1 block from the beach! Even on a chilly day, the front porch is a great place to sit and take in some people watching on the street! An added bonus is all the off-street parking in the driveway - which I know is a premium in Cape May! Kelly was quick and efficient in answering any questions we had. We would definitely stay here again!

Another great stay at the Poet's Inn

Thanksgiving, 2023 proved to be a wonderful experience while staying at the Poet's Inn, where we have celebrated the Thanksgiving holiday over the past several years. Inn Keepers, Kelly and Kevin, provide a welcoming and spacious atmosphere within the home that supports large family closeness. The main dining room, where we enjoyed a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, includes a long table that comfortably seated our family of sixteen. The Poet's Inn is ideally located, within easy walking distance to the mall, beach area, restaurants, and many popular attractions. And the front porch on Jackson Street provides the perfect spot to sit in the fresh air while watching and greeting the many persons who pass by throughout the day. We look forward to returning to the Poet's Inn in the coming year.

Wonderful Family Vacation

My family and I stayed at Poet’s Inn for the second time and thoroughly enjoyed it. The house is a beautiful Victorian that’s spacious and well maintained. It has a big kitchen and separate dining room, allowing the entire family to sit down together. The front porch is wonderful, large enough to accommodate everyone and is a great place to sit and relax. The home is located close to the beach and the many shops and restaurants on Washington St. I recommend it strongly and plan to be back again next year.

The BEST Location!!

This is the second time we’ve booked the Poet’s Inn for a group of 8 ladies. The location is perfect! It’s just a half block to the beach and the same to the shops and restaurants in town. There are so many rooms and bathrooms, everyone has their own space. And since we’re a group of ‘over 60’ women, temperature control is a must. Every room has their own temperature control over the air conditioning, so it was perfect. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies but you’re so close to so many restaurants, you may not want to cook. The best part… sitting on the front porch watching the world walk by. We just loved it there and will likely return!

The Tradition Continues

We are fortunate to have enjoyed another Thanksgiving holiday with our family of 15 at the Poet's Inn. Our advance expectations for an opportunity to spend quality time away with our children, grandchildren, great grandchild, sister, and sons-in-law were fully realized. Gathering around the huge dining room table for our Thanksgiving dinner was a memorable and sumptuous dining experience, in a cozy setting that supported warm and humorous interactions among family members. The Inn is spacious with well appointed bedrooms and plenty of room within the seating areas on the main level to spread out as needed. Also, the driveway accommodates several cars, so parking for multiple drivers is not a problem. In addition, the Inn is centrally located within walking distance to local shops, attractions, restaurants and the beach. So, park the car and enjoy all that Cape May offers. Finally, the proprietors, Kelly and Kevin Peters, are wonderful hosts and go out of their way to ensure that the needs and interests of their guests are fully realized. Poet's Inn - PERFECT!

We just came back from spending a week at The Poet's Inn. There were 11 of us and it was so nice to be together as a family. Eating in that huge dining room was special. No one eats together anymore so this was a nice option. My grandchildren loved the idea that all the girls could sleep in one room (sleepovers every night) and the boys did the same. Since we stayed here last year too, my granddaughter actually said she didn't want anything for Christmas this year except to go back to The Poet's Inn. The beach is a half block away and Washington Street a half block in the other direction, so centrally located, no driving is necessary. Can't say enough about Kelly and Kevin the owners.
