Spacious and conveniently located to beach and tow

We had an amazing stay at the Poet's Inn! Kelly was incredibly welcoming, and the property was spacious and conveniently located to the beach and the center of town.

Private backyard with putting green!

The Poet's Inn was fantastic for our group! We were in Cape May for a wedding and we were able to walk to the ceremony and reception since the Inn is right in the heart of downtown. The place itself was beautiful and had plenty of room for all of us. Our favorite part was the private backyard - complete with putting green! I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend!

Perfect house for a large group

Perfect house for a large group and right in the middle of everything Cape May! The Poet's Inn was perfect for our group of 11 women - plenty of bathrooms! House was clean and the kitchen well-stocked with plates, glasses, silverware, pots/pans, etc. Sometimes you rent a house that sleeps 20 and they have 10 dinner plates - Not here!! Plenty of everything and two dishwashers! It was a cold and rainy weekend when we were here but the cute backyard looked like it would be lots of fun in warm weather. The location could not have been better; 1 block to shops and restaurants, 2 doors down from The Mad Batter (fabulous), and 1 block from the beach! Even on a chilly day, the front porch is a great place to sit and take in some people watching on the street! An added bonus is all the off-street parking in the driveway - which I know is a premium in Cape May! Kelly was quick and efficient in answering any questions we had. We would definitely stay here again!

Another great stay at the Poet's Inn

Thanksgiving, 2023 proved to be a wonderful experience while staying at the Poet's Inn, where we have celebrated the Thanksgiving holiday over the past several years. Inn Keepers, Kelly and Kevin, provide a welcoming and spacious atmosphere within the home that supports large family closeness. The main dining room, where we enjoyed a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, includes a long table that comfortably seated our family of sixteen. The Poet's Inn is ideally located, within easy walking distance to the mall, beach area, restaurants, and many popular attractions. And the front porch on Jackson Street provides the perfect spot to sit in the fresh air while watching and greeting the many persons who pass by throughout the day. We look forward to returning to the Poet's Inn in the coming year.

Wonderful Family Vacation

My family and I stayed at Poet’s Inn for the second time and thoroughly enjoyed it. The house is a beautiful Victorian that’s spacious and well maintained. It has a big kitchen and separate dining room, allowing the entire family to sit down together. The front porch is wonderful, large enough to accommodate everyone and is a great place to sit and relax. The home is located close to the beach and the many shops and restaurants on Washington St. I recommend it strongly and plan to be back again next year.

Great week in Cape May

They say location, location, location is everything. The Poet's Inn is the perfect location. Awesome front porch, roomy back yard, and enough off-street parking add to its value. Plenty of space inside for a large family. They care about making upgrades as are necessary. Kelly and Kevin are easy to work with too. We find it meets our needs quite well. Love our stay in Cape May.

Great memories

What a beautiful home and so well taken care of. We had a long weekend stay for a wedding in Cape May. We walked to the church, the Chalfonte Hotel for the reception, and of course one block to the beach. Everything was as described and listed on the AirBnB site. Thank you Kevin and Kelly for great memories in your home.

The BEST Location!!

This is the second time we’ve booked the Poet’s Inn for a group of 8 ladies. The location is perfect! It’s just a half block to the beach and the same to the shops and restaurants in town. There are so many rooms and bathrooms, everyone has their own space. And since we’re a group of ‘over 60’ women, temperature control is a must. Every room has their own temperature control over the air conditioning, so it was perfect. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies but you’re so close to so many restaurants, you may not want to cook. The best part… sitting on the front porch watching the world walk by. We just loved it there and will likely return!

The Tradition Continues

We are fortunate to have enjoyed another Thanksgiving holiday with our family of 15 at the Poet's Inn. Our advance expectations for an opportunity to spend quality time away with our children, grandchildren, great grandchild, sister, and sons-in-law were fully realized. Gathering around the huge dining room table for our Thanksgiving dinner was a memorable and sumptuous dining experience, in a cozy setting that supported warm and humorous interactions among family members. The Inn is spacious with well appointed bedrooms and plenty of room within the seating areas on the main level to spread out as needed. Also, the driveway accommodates several cars, so parking for multiple drivers is not a problem. In addition, the Inn is centrally located within walking distance to local shops, attractions, restaurants and the beach. So, park the car and enjoy all that Cape May offers. Finally, the proprietors, Kelly and Kevin Peters, are wonderful hosts and go out of their way to ensure that the needs and interests of their guests are fully realized. We are looking forward to returning to the Poet's Inn in 2023.

When we arrived a gift was left for us and we were touched by the communication and best wishes they extended to us. Amazing! Location is right in the heart of Cape May where everything is within walking distance. Private driveway can accommodate 5 SUVs. The house was clean and very spacious. More important, the well stocked kitchen and dining room seating were commensurate with the number of people the house can sleep. The kitchen has 2 dishwashers and 2 sinks which aided in quick cleanup. Front porch is awesome! Kelly communicated well with us and responded immediately to our questions. The home was very clean, spacious and cheerfully decorated with Victorian touches. It more than comfortably accommodated 13 family members. The first floor bedroom and walk in shower was perfect for my grandmother who walks with a cane. After missing our Thanksgiving holiday at the Poet's Inn in 2020 due to the shut down in N.J. because of the pandemic, we were happy to return, once again, to the Inn with the family. The Poet's Inn is the perfect place to celebrate Thanksgiving, particularly with its cozy rooms and spacious kitchen, as well as a large dining room table that accommodates our growing family for the Thanksgiving feast. Also, the home is centrally located within easy walking distance to the beach, mall, restaurants and other attractions. Poet's Inn - PERFECT!

We just came back from spending a week at The Poet's Inn. There were 11 of us and it was so nice to be together as a family. Eating in that huge dining room was special. No one eats together anymore so this was a nice option. My grandchildren loved the idea that all the girls could sleep in one room (sleepovers every night) and the boys did the same. Since we stayed here last year too, my granddaughter actually said she didn't want anything for Christmas this year except to go back to The Poet's Inn. The beach is a half block away and Washington Street a half block in the other direction, so centrally located, no driving is necessary. Can't say enough about Kelly and Kevin the owners. They keep a very clean, and organized Inn. Any questions, they immediately responded. Looking forward to next year and my granddaughter's next Christmas present.

"We Could Not Have Been More Pleased"

Our third time at the Poet's Inn proved, once again, to be all that we could have asked for. The Inn is spacious and easily accommodated our family of fourteen. This was our first time at the Inn in the late spring; the previous two years, we enjoyed time away over the Thanksgiving holiday. Vacationing in the early June enabled us to make good use of the newly- finished porch as we frequently gathered there enjoying the steady movement of strollers traversing Jackson Street. The Inn is very conveniently located with easy walking access to the beach and local shops and restaurants. The Poet's Inn is a large and charming vacation home that could be enjoyed any time of the year. Thanks again for a wonderful getaway at our favorite N. J. shore community. John, Pat and family
